看到这儿有的同学可能就疑惑了,Tony要把他所有的希望都钉在老张身上吗?呵呵,其实“To pin your hopes on something/somebody”是个习语,意思就是把“把你的希望寄托在某事/某人身上”,细一想也对,把希望钉进某个地方,不就是热切地期盼嘛~所以Tony 刚才是在说“我把所有的希望都寄托在你身上啦!” 但同时,“pin something on somebody/something”还有责备某人的意思在里面。
