读到英语I'm a man of word时，你的英语“水平”是足以让你“说出”更多的英语，包括你学过，或者你“不会用”但我写出来你就说“”我认得”的英语，还是只能“说”它的中文？

一、下面的英语a man of word时，你是读”成中文，还是英语？

1. Bob, I'm a man of my word. If I tell you I'll be at your house tomorrow morning at 10, then that's when I'll be there.

2. I've found Martin to be a man of his word so far, so I'm confident he'll get us the best deal possible.

在没有语言环境下，我们看到上面的英语根本不是为了“懂”它们的中文。相反，我们不应该看不懂”它们下面的英语(意思)：

1. A man of his word：A man who can be expected to follow through with his promises or

2. A man of his word：a truthful person, a trustworthy person, a reliable person.

这么多英语(解释)，我们不应该一个都不认识，能“懂”就没必要再问：中文什么意思？

3. a man of his word：A man who keeps promises, who can be trusted.

4. A reliable person, who always keeps their promises

我们学习英语a man of his word，要学要记的正是这些“学过”的英语，不是它的中文。

可是我们却偏偏没这么做：我们关心和记的只是“它的中文是什么？”

二、学英语时“用”英语

见了英语a man of his word，我们“会说”类似下面的英语吗？

1. Okay.I got you.I know what you mean if you say You're a man of your word.

2. If you say You're a man of word,you man You always keep your promises,you're trustfull,you're reliable,you're trustworthy

难道我们学英语a man of word时，连记住keep your promises等英语都做不到，非得记它的中文不可吗？
