第70届年度国际宇航大会（IAC）将于2019年10月21日至25日在华盛顿DC举行。国际宇航大会是全球首要的全球航天盛会，来自政府、企业、学术界和非营利领域的领袖和决策者齐聚一堂 。为期一周的国际宇航大会展示世界领先的太空机构和公司，并讨论太空探索和应用对社会和经济的影响、航天安全和空间交通管理、以及航天国家之间的国际合作。

国务部在指导美国政府与世界其他地区进行的太空事务方面发挥着重要作用。这些努力包括：推进行政当局的太空探索和商业太空目标；与多个航天国家交流，以促进美国的科学、经济、安全和外交政策利益；以及通过联合国和平利用外层空间委员会（COPUOS）开展工作。国务部与其他机构和总统执行办公室经常保持伙伴关系以完成这项工作。

The 70th annual International Astronautical Congress (IAC)  will take place in Washington, DC October 21-25, 2019.  The IAC is the world’s premier global space event, bringing together leaders and decision makers from government, industry, academia, and the nonprofit sector.  The weeklong IAC showcases the world’s leading space agencies and companies and features discussions on the social and economic impacts of space exploration and applications; spaceflight safety and space traffic management; and international cooperation among spacefaring nations.

The State Department plays a significant role in guiding the U.S. government’s outer space affairs with the rest of the world.  These efforts include advancing the Administration’s space exploration and commercial space goals, engagement with multiple spacefaring nations to promote U.S. scientific, economic, security, and foreign policy interests, and working through the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS).  The State Department accomplishes this work in constant partnership with other agencies and the Executive Office of the President.
