01、“long run”不是“长跑”

long run 的意思是长期的，常见搭配是in the long run=从长远来看。长跑正确的表达是：long-distance running

例句：

①Investing our money in the stock market will be worth it in the long run.

投资股市从长远来看是有价值的。

②Students at a university will probably not receive their diploma if they fail a physical fitness test, a type of test that requires students to achieve long-distance running.

02、“run short”不是“短跑”

run short 的意思是快用完了，一般搭配: run short of something。短跑的正确英文表达：sprint

03、“跑两圈”英文怎么说？

circle [ˈsɜːkl]圆圈，但跑两圈说成run two circles，是典型的中式英文，跑步是用腿来跑的，英语中要用lap[læp]或者thigh[θaɪ]，这两个单词都有“大腿”的意思，所以我跑两圈可以说：

I run two laps. 或者 I run two thighs.

04、run a mile

run a mile 的意思是敬而远之，表示在一种特定情况下，出于害怕或者不愿意，就不去做某事。
