前面半句大家应该都明白，lecture 当动词用时是"讲演、训斥"的意思，可是后半句里的"looked on the point of tears"却不是"望着泪珠"的意思哟，短语"be on the point of doing"正确的意思是"正要做某事时"，所以上面这句话 Lawrence 是在跟老板说 "别再训她了，她眼看着就要哭了。"
